Thomas Wiggans

Thomas G. Wiggans has served as a member of our Board of Directors since June 2008. Mr. Wiggans was Chairman and CEO of Peplin, Inc., which was acquired by LEO Pharma of Copenhagen Denmark in November 2009. Prior to joining Peplin, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Connetics Corporation, a biotechnology company, from 1994, and as Chairman of the Board from January 2006, until December 2006 when Connetics Corporation was acquired by Stiefel Laboratories. From 1992 to 1994, Mr.Wiggans served as President and Chief Operating Officer of CytoTherapeutics, a biotechnology company. From 1980 to 1992, Mr. Wiggans served in various positions at Ares-Serono Group, a pharmaceutical company, including President of its U.S. pharmaceutical operations and Managing Director of its U.K. pharmaceutical operations. Mr. Wiggans currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Onyx Pharmaceuticals Inc.and Somaxon Pharmaceuticals, and the Board of Trustees of the University of Kansas Endowment Association. In addition, he is Chairman of the Biotechnology Institute, a non-profit educational organization. Mr. Wiggans holds a B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Kansas and an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University.
