Sangamo BioSciences Chief Scientific Officer to Present at Keystone Symposium
Richmond, CA -- January 16, 2003 -- Sangamo BioSciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: SGMO) announced today that Dr. Carl O. Pabo, Sangamo’s chief scientific officer, has been invited to chair a plenary session and present at a Keystone Symposium titled “Drug Target Validation: Gene Suppression” to be held in Tahoe City, California, January 17-22, 2003.
Dr. Pabo will chair the session “Protein Engineering to Repress Transcription” on Saturday, January 18th and will give a plenary session talk presenting data on the use of Sangamo’s zinc finger DNA binding protein transcription factors (ZFP TFs) to regulate endogenous gene expression.
In addition, Dr. Philip D. Gregory, Team Leader, Gene Repression, will make a presentation entitled “ZFP targeted gene regulation - single gene specificity genome wide”. Both presentations will profile the single gene specificity of Sangamo’s ZFP TF gene regulation technology.
