SB-509
SB-509 is a ZFP TF which up-regulates the gene for vascular endothelial growth factor–A (VEGF-A). It is a first-in-class drug designed to restore and regenerate nerves (neuroregenerative) and promote the growth of blood vessels (angiogenic). In October 2011, we announced that our Phase 2b trial (SB-509-901) to evaluate the drug in subjects with moderately severe diabetic neuropathy did not meet its primary or secondary endpoints. Based on these data, we have discontinued development of SB-509.
